India has world-class hospitals and ordinary ones, just like every country. The difference for an international patient is knowing what to look for — because you cannot walk in and tour the ward beforehand.

1. Accreditation

Look for NABH (India’s national standard) and ideally JCI (the international gold standard that also certifies leading US and UK hospitals). Accreditation covers hygiene, safety protocols and outcome tracking.

2. Surgeon volume and specialisation

For complex procedures, volume matters: a surgeon who performs hundreds of a given operation each year is a safer choice than a generalist. Ask how many of your specific procedure the surgeon does annually.

3. International-patient services

The best hospitals for medical travellers have dedicated international desks, interpreters, and experience with visa letters and remote follow-up. This is often the difference between a smooth trip and a stressful one.

4. Get matched, don’t guess

You don’t have to research 50 hospitals yourself. Share your diagnosis and we recommend the two or three hospitals and surgeons best matched to your case, budget and timeline — and the final choice is always yours.

A free expert opinion is the fastest way to see who is right for your specific condition.
